WIGWAM began in Bermondsey

My first post on our beautiful website!  Wow, I am quite emotional – we have come so far from the day of the first teapot!

As much as I loved setting up the Ceramics Studio, I did sorely miss making.  It s so hard to find a balance between making and earning, self employment is second nature to me but it doesn’t mean it always runs the way you want.  Uninterrupted time to make was scarce in such a busy environment, I felt a bit of a victim of my own success. This has made the last two months so much sweeter, having time to make and experiment on our range has reaped great rewards.

The lovely thing about working in Bermondsey was being surrounded by other artists in the same position, we would constantly share ideas and offer support to each other.  They were great days but there are greater ahead.  Bruno has been such an inspiration, he encourages and drives our making… constantly generating ideas, he s the dynamo in our little duo ; )

I function so much better in a partnership and we are both so excited to be setting up in the beautiful Warwickshire countryside. The great thing is I have a lovely fresh canvas to start with and all those lessons learned from the London studio.

Right now we are busy fine tuning this website, getting to grips with the shop and looking at different types of places to sell our wares. We are always interested in any ideas for markets or outlets and of course websites. Let us know if you have any ideas….
