Lindsey is OBSESSED with plants so we have been breeding little green babies and making gorgeous pots for them to live in : )

There s nothing more hygge than a handmade candle! I am with the Danes on this one!

So I made a few for friends and myself of course!

Being a bit of a natural chick I went down the pure soy wax route and added vanilla and lavender, am looking forward to adding to those flavours : )

I discovered the scents are stronger if I let the wax cool down a little after melting before adding the essential oil.

It looked so easy when I watched Caroline doing it here in the studio at Christmas but actually getting it all straight and set correctly is harder than I though.  I am also working on best shapes for the pots to use ….. this means loads of candle burning home research so I am feeling pretty chilled : )

New Wigwam range ‘Winter’. Inspired by the beautiful aconites in our woods

December was so busy, it s been nice to take some time to work on new ideas.

Another new range .... so far untitled. Any ideas?

Another new range …. so far untitled. Any suggestions?

We made some bottles for friends using this design and they were very gratefully

received so we thought we would play with the idea of a simpler style.

I did a small commission for a dear friend.

I enjoyed the challenge but it reminded me why we work with earthenware.

New Years Art resolution to stick to what I love…. some of the joy goes out of

making when it is already sold. Sounds strange but it feels more like a job.

People flooded in for the opening! It was incredible!

His unique curation and passion for art,

particularly ceramics, has been greatly missed by local art lovers.

The greatest thing for, speaking as one of his past artists is.

He is not influenced by the previous success or

indeed experience of an artist or maker.

Bruno has a good eye and will leap at the opportunity to show work he loves.

Leyla in new studio

Leyla in new studio

Well I have to say, it feels great to be holding the keys to a real work space!  So close to being back in business now. On the first day I had mixed feelings, remembering all the heartache of leaving the last studio and wondering if I can actually do this again!?

But armed with a sketch book and tape measure the next morning, it felt good to head off to a work place. I spent some time measuring up and thinking about how best to use the space.  I suppose because I am a visual type of brain, then seeing shapes on paper and picturing people in the space just brought it all alive : )

I am so looking forward to bringing people into the space.  I cant wait to be teaching throwing again and sharing all those joyous ‘high five’ moments on the potters wheel.  Looking forward to tea, chats and walks by the river : )
